Our Story

The Seahawks were on their way to win their first Superbowl Championship. David had bus tickets to Seattle to see the spectacle, but Audra offered a better plan. Here is how our story goes…

So we met online ok? Let’s just get that out of the way. It’s 2016. Audra suggested that David abandon his southbound bus for a closer destination in Bellingham. Apparently they’d just got a brand new TV at her place of employment for viewing Super Bowl XLVIII, and that was an offer David couldn’t refuse.
Meeting on the internet isn’t even the most outrageous part. A Canadian and American falling in love? Seems like a pretty crazy idea, especially if you’ve ever visited the Costco in Bellingham! Yet we’ve transcended the obstacles of an international romance to create something truly special. From our humble digital beginnings blossomed a beautiful real life relationship that we’re very proud of. We’d like to share our story and how it all came together.

    How We Met

    How We Met

We met at the Dairy Queen, next to where the bus dropped David off. Audra walked in to find David seated at a booth eating french fries. He offered her some fries, she said yes.

    The First Date

    The First Date

After a bowl of pho we both worked volunteer positions during a rock show at make.shift, the local community art space. David wooed Audra with Canadian content on YouTube. The rest is history!

    We Are Finally Engaged

Audra surprised David when she secretly invited all of their friends to a Vancouver Canadians baseball game. Her top secret plan was to get everyone to participate in a flashmob to convince him to marry her. It worked. Unfortunately they never made it onto the Jumbotron.

    Getting Married

We’ve opted to get married at Hovander Homestead State Park north of Bellingham which is pretty darn exciting, really. The city of Ferndale, WA boasts not only the perfect venue for our wedding, but also a Sonic where you can get hotdogs and tater-tots.

Our Registry

We would be so grateful if you would like to contribute anything to our new life together. While we truly appreciate your generosity, our home is very small and we're not in a position to accept physical items. If you've ever visited our teeny-tiny cozy Vancouver apartment, you'll understand why! However, we will welcome any words of encouragement, helping hands, or monetary contribution to our honeymoon to New York City & Nova Scotia.

We’ll also be accepting any cards and/or bestowment at our wedding event.
